Ferrite
It is a stainless steel with a ferrite structure and cannot be hardened by quenching. Chrome copper is usually It belongs to this, and the composition example is Cr14~18%, Si<1%, C<0.12%, Mn<1%, and cold working is possible.
Used in tanks, vehicle parts, filtration devices, etc.
Unlike austenitic ones, it has the property of sticking to magnets.
Excellent ductility and strong resistance to corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. [400 series stainless steel]
Typical chemical composition: Slightly low in carbon content, mainly composed of Chromium.
(Cr14~18%, Si〈1%, C〈0.12%, Mn〈1%)
Excellent formability and oxidation resistance.
Weld metal becomes sensitive to hot cracks, which limits weld ability.
Used in tanks, vehicle parts, filtration devices, kitchen appliances, and industrial equipment.
Magnetic.
